Updated: Jun 16

Inside the Bold Innovations Shaping the Future of Fashion

Paris, the city of lights, was once again the epicenter of the fashion universe as Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025 collections unfolded in spectacular fashion. From the return of iconic designers to fresh faces making their Parisian debuts, this year’s Paris Fashion Week was a whirlwind of creativity, star-studded moments, and breathtaking craftsmanship. Here's a recap of the unforgettable week.

The Star-Studded Front Rows

As always, Paris Fashion Week was brimming with A-list celebrity sightings. The front rows were star-studded, with rapper Megan Thee Stallion making a striking entrance at Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture show. She commanded attention in a nearly-nude thong bodysuit, adorned with a studded headpiece and a metal harness—a bold fashion moment that made waves. Other prominent figures included Kylie Jenner, Tyla, Serena Page, and Jenna Ortega, all adding their star power to the event.

A Week of Haute Couture Highlights

The week kicked off with the much-anticipated Fall/Winter 2025 collections, bringing both established names and rising stars to the forefront. Jean Paul Gaultier’s showcase, "Le Naufrage," curated by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, was an artful tribute to the brand’s rich legacy. A masterclass in sculpture and precision, Gaultier’s collection balanced bold, architectural pieces with nuanced details that harkened back to the legendary FW00 collection.

Meanwhile, Schiaparelli’s SS25 presentation became an instant fan favorite, thanks to its surreal beauty. Models paraded down the runway in otherworldly creations, with the surreal skin and tight coiffs providing an ethereal touch. The collection’s surrealist beauty was matched only by the luxurious, finely crafted pieces from the House of Schiaparelli.

Jacquemus Makes a Grand Return

The much-anticipated return of Jacquemus to Paris Fashion Week was nothing short of spectacular. The show was held at the home of famed French architect Auguste Perret, providing the perfect backdrop for Simon Porte Jacquemus’ meticulously crafted collection. With a nod to early French couturiers like Paul Poiret and the glamour of early Hollywood, Jacquemus mixed bold white and black ensembles with playful pop sensibilities. The detailed craftsmanship and intricate leather bags showcased the designer’s vision of luxury in an innovative and accessible form.

From Streetwear to Couture: A Fusion of Styles

The intersection of streetwear and couture was evident in multiple shows throughout the week. Louis Vuitton’s Men's Fall/Winter 2025 show, masterminded by Pharrell Williams in collaboration with Kenzo’s Nigo, paid tribute to their enduring friendship and the roots of streetwear. The show combined art, music, and fashion, with rare Louis Vuitton collaborations on display, including iconic pieces by Virgil Abloh and Karl Lagerfeld. The show also served as a reminder of the impact of subcultures on luxury fashion.

KidSuper’s show was a riot of colors and surrealism, showcasing a collection that blurred the lines between streetwear and avant-garde. Creative director Colm Dillane took a bold step with his “From a Place I Have Never Been” collection, featuring ethereal, light fabrics that contrasted with the heavy nature of KidSuper’s past works.

A Celebration of Hollywood at Amiri

Amiri’s runway also saw a shift this season, with Mike Amiri presenting his first-ever womenswear collection alongside his menswear line. The collection, a homage to Hollywood and Los Angeles, celebrated optimism, dreams, and love, bringing the glitzy 70s energy of Tinseltown to the fashion runway.

A Fashion Revolution at Hermes

At Hermes, the brand embraced a play on shapes and materials, showcasing a multifaceted masculinity that blended sensuality with artistry. Complexities such as coat layering and monochromatic sets played with light and movement, offering a fresh take on modern masculinity. The collection invited onlookers to see fashion as an evolving, artistic experience—one that constantly shifted and adapted to the wearer’s environment.

Rising Stars and New Debuts

Among the most exciting moments of the week were the fresh faces and first-time debuts in Paris. London’s J.L-A.L and Willy Chavarria both made their Paris Fashion Week debuts, adding new voices to the already dynamic roster of designers. Amiri, too, took the fashion world by surprise with its womenswear debut, demonstrating a seamless blend of street energy and high fashion. Meanwhile, 3.Paradis debuted its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, with Solange’s son, Julez (far right below), opening the show. The collection, which captured the essence of winter’s chill and the warmth of home, invited the audience to embrace the present moment through a thoughtful blend of streetwear aesthetics and sophisticated tailoring.

A Magical Closing Moment

The final days of Paris Fashion Week were just as mesmerizing. Valentino’s SS25 couture show, Alessandro Michele's first since joining the brand, left guests in awe. Set against the historic Palais Brongniart, the collection's “Vertigineux” theme translated into breathtaking lighting and theatricality, perfectly complementing the couture masterpieces. Models, with their forehead-spanning braids and ethereal beauty, walked in a show that felt like a journey through history, reverence, and art.
